Professional:  My primary workplace is Warner Elementary in the Jessamine County, Kentucky Public School System, where I have been a speech-language pathologist since 1997.  Warner is a wonderful place where I have had the pleasure of being with kids every day, the opportunity to meet many wonderful people and have developed my knowledge of communication disorders in children, which has led to several other pursuits.

For the past seven years, one my secondary roles has been as part-time faculty at Eastern Kentucky University, where I taught the Augmentative and Alternative Communication and Disorders of Articulation courses.  One of my other professional pursuits has been to provide continuing education opportunities for Speech-Language Pathologists across the state of Kentucky.  This year, I left EKU to devote more time to developing training opportunities, pursue contracting speech and language services in private schools and publication of my therapy methods and materials. I do have a project in the works that you should be seeing in August, 2008!

Personal:   My husband, Don, and I have a little farm just on the outskirts of Lexington, where we are able to relax with our cat.    I enjoy taking photographs, making pottery and stained glass…I have a “studio” in my garage where I spend a lot of time!
